Repeating vs. non-repeating

  1. Some activities repeat in a fixed cycle, e.g. going to work daily from 9am to 6pm, or going to an art class every Tuesday at 8pm.
  2. Some activities are scheduled as needed, e.g. setting up a time to meet with some friend.

It is recommended that you schedule as many of your activities as possible as the first type. Especially when you want to establish a new habit, such as going to the gym. If you schedule a fixed time, there is less friction to decide each time when to go, i.e. moving the decision from system2 to system1.

Weekly Planning

Set a time once per week with a friend, to do weekly planning. In the meeting, you can go over your Life Quest Dashboard to see your status in the game, and then decide what steps you want to take in the coming week, and when to schedule those steps, to make sure they happen.

Guiding questions:

  1. What can you do this week to further enhance your emotional wellbeing?
  2. Which area of your dashboard would be most beneficial to advance this week?
  3. Which of the tasks on your tasks board, if promoted, could contribute to other tasks? Maybe focus on these first?
